Info:
I am excited to announce that BreakTing Stars will be holding it's first in-house breakdance battle competition on Sunday March 18th from 2.30pm-4.30pm at St Mary's Church Hall. This will be a competition for all BreakTing Stars students that would like to enter no matter what their ability or age. Each competitor will receive a medal, round winners will also receive a certificate and there are trophies for the winners! And of course family and friends can come along to cheer their bboy or bgirl on! There will be four categories that the children can enter:
Infants solos & Junior solos
A solo battle involves 'battling' in a 1-v-1 competition similar to a breakdance circle that we do each week in class. After a coin toss to decide who goes into the breakdance circle first, the first competitor dances solo for 30 seconds showing off their best standing and floor moves.
The judges decide who wins the battle and the winner goes forwards to the next round.
Infants duos & Junior duos
This is very similar to solo competition but with two dancers on each team. For a large proportion of the dance, duos must perform together in synchronicity with each other. Therefore a routine must be planned before dancing. The duo can decide on their own music and music requests will need to be given to myself a week before the competition. Both teams battling take it in turns to dance for two turns of 30 seconds and then watch the other team. On their second turn in the circle they may want to try and 'top' what their rivals did previously.
The judges decide who wins the battle and the winner goes forwards to the next round.
