The top 2 finalists will compete for the champion title, cash and prizes.
This year's Beat Masters will take place outdoors at Hot Spot, on the Seattle Waterfront. Due to concerns regarding weather and other logistics, we ask producers to not bring their beat machines (equipment) to this year's event. Please only bring beats on a portable media player with a 1/8" output. (such as iPod, laptop, tablet, mp3 player, etc)
SAMPLE FLIP
Each contestant will be provided a sample that will be distributed 2 weeks prior to the battle and must be incorporated in some manner in the preliminary round. Judges will be looking to see how uniquely flipped the sample is used.
JUDGING
Judges TBA.
The beats are judged on the following:
1. Originality / Technique: Is the beat well chopped or simply looped? Are the samples recognizable?
2. Sonic Clarity / Mix: Are the high's high and the low's low?
3. Compositions / Transitions: Are there any switch ups?
4. Variety / Versatility: Are you presenting a good range of music?
