In 2016, WAKAKA CREW will celebrate their 10th Anniversary. In 10 years, WAKAKA CREW has grown
into one of Malaysian’s best and favourite dance crew, while maintaining its core commitment to art,
interdisciplinary, accessibility, diversity and dancing. WAKAKA CREW recently launched an awareness
campaign about breakdance/bboying, with a vision to make WAKAKA CREW a leading international crew for
interdisciplinary research and teaching in bboy and dance.
During WAKAKA CREW’s Anniversary, we will look back at our achievements, celebrate and plan for the
future, bring back the originality of street dancers and also appreciate each and every one of them. This
gives an opportunity for WAKAKA CREW to claim its place among Asian street dance scene, and a
chance to recognise the WAKAKA CREW "family" ( the OG and the Juniors ) as well as galvanise
WAKAKA CREW's mission and vision. Through specific activities and initiatives, we will reach out to
internal and external dance communities and build on the solid achievements in years to come.
Our Hip-Hop culture is a pure and healthy lifestyle. We express our art and emotion through dancing.
The idea behind the “WAKAKA CREW 1OTH YEAR ANNIVERSARY 2016” is to exposed the struggle of
people who dance in the street and emphasise on how important it is to be street smart to survive in real
dance and art industry.
It has to be experience in real life. It is about being truth to ourself, to be real.
