Rebels de la Soul has partnered up with Unity to host a seasonal event called "777 GLOWUP" at the hip-hop dance drop-in program for more than a year now.
Our intent behind hosting this event quarterly, is to honour each and every young artists in their respected art forms, by inviting them to work together, create bonds amongst the different scenes, and contribute to Hip-Hop’s global movement.
The event consists of three 7 to Smoke categories: dance, emcee and beatbox. The “GlowUp” is the culminating point of the event when the 3 winners of each category team up and get to battle the 3 judges in a 3v3 exhibition battle.
For this year’s Unity festival, judges will pick the top 8 competitors from each 7toSmoke prelim category to create 8 teams consisting of one dancer, one beatboxer and one emcee. All chosen competitors will be grouped in teams of 3 to battle for the 777GLOW UP title as well as a cash prize of $900!
The winners of the 3v3 will end with facing off our judges in an exhibition battle!
FRI, SEPT 27 -- DAY ONE - 6PM
7toSmoke Prelims for beatbox, emcee and dance categories to gain slot and be entered into the 777 GLOW UP 3v3, judges will select the top 8 of each category to move on to Day Two!
SAT, SEPT 28 -- DAY TWO - 8PM
The top 8 of each category will be split in teams of 3(1 dancer, 1 beatboxer & 1 emcee) to compete in the 777 GLOW UP 3v3.
The winning team gets to face off the judges in an exhibition battle.
