DJ BATTLE
Scratch DJs: 2 Minutes Sets - 5 minute final round sets (need way less time to showcase than mix)
Judging Criteria:
Mixing ability, Track Selection, Showmanship/Style, Technical Skill, Crowd Reaction
Voting will be done on the spot .
Scoring each Dj on 1-10 point scale
NO CONTROLLERS! NO SYNC BUTTON or they are disqualified This is the standard for battles across the board.
Bracket structure Contest. 8-4-2-1
8 Mix DJs in battle off - 4 scratch DJs in battle off.DJs name will be drawn from hat to determine which position you go, this avoids any favoritism or unfairness.
Round 1 = Competitors cut for up to 60 seconds over a beat of their choosing. Judging is a combination of a peer judging system and a judging panel. The top 8 competitors will progress to the next round.
Round 2 = A random draw will be made to create 4 x 1 Vs. 1 match ups. The competitors will cut for up to 60 seconds over a beat that will be provided. Judging will be done by a judging panel. The 4 winning DJs will progress to round 3.
Round 3 = A random draw will be made to create 2 x 1 Vs. 1 match ups. The competitors will cut for up to 90 seconds over a beat that will be provided. Judging will be done by a judging panel. The 2 winning DJs will progress to the final round.
Round 4 = The final. This will take place over 3 rounds of 90 seconds per round. Beats will be provided for each round. If the same DJ wins the first 2 rounds, the battle is over. Judging will be done by a judging panel.
In all rounds, competitors can cut up any sample(s) of their choosing. In the rounds where a beat is provided, DJs must cut over the beat at its stock speed - so no pitching the beat up or down.

EMCEE/FREESTYLE BATTLE
Battle must be held with either 16 or 8 Emcees, once all the 16 or 8 slots are already final, it will be divided into two brackets
1. Do not bite (copy) someone else work. Your freestyle must be 100% original material and shall not infringe upon any third party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights nor shall it contain any vulgar words and sexually explicit lyrics.
2. The language and dialect to be used in the battle is either English or ebonics.
3. The rap lyrics (punch line) should focus more on humor whether you mock or ridicule your opponent.
4. The organizer/promoter will appoint the timekeeper. He/She will be provided with a stopwatch and will be responsible for indicating the end of each round. The clock starts from the beginning of the first line spoken by the competitor.
5. For the preliminary round of competition each emcee will be given two rounds each for one (1) minute, for the semi-final round each emcee rhymes twice for one (1) minute per round, in the final round each emcee rhymes twice for one (1) minute. In case of a tie another round (OT) will be provided to break the tie.
6. Each Emcee must rhyme over the same beat as their opponent.
7. By participating in this event you permit the recording of your contributions and assign to the organizers the complete copyright and all other rights in your contributions for use in all media.
1.Judges must make their decision as to the winner of each round independently and will have an opportunity to explain their decisions.
2. In the case of a round where the judges cannot reach a decision each Emcee will be asked to perform an extra verse for forty five (45) seconds and the concept/topic should be given by the judges. Whenever possible this process should be avoided by the judges.
3. Decision by the judges is final. There is no appeal process. PROTEST - are prohibited and will not be accepted regarding any score or result of a decision.

GRAFFITTI CONTEST
RULES and GUIDELINES
1. The concept will be provided by the organizer.
2. Do not bite (copy) someone else work.
3. Canvas/Wall will be provided by the organizer except for the spray paints/Markers.
4. All graffiti must be completed on provided canvas.
5. All contestants must complete their mural within time frame given.
6. No naked or nude character on the canvas, the writer violating this rule will be disqualified.
7. The organizer has the full ownership and copyright of the final canvass.
8. Competitors who are rude, abusive or deemed otherwise unsuitable by the organisers will be disqualified from the competition.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE BATTLE
1. Lettering – The organizer judges wanted to see fresh lettering, we are looking for solid lettering structures.
2. Concept - The writer must address the assigned word with a concept. This is where characters, backgrounds, and messaging are considered. The concept is provided by the organizer.
3. Color - Judges will be looking to see how well you used color to make your pieces burn. Chosen by the Judges/Oraganizer
4. Originality - Judges are looking for something new and different than what you usually do. Also your style must be unique, as opposed to clearly being a derivative of someone else’s style.
5. Technique - Here is where we consider your can control, and show what you do with techniques that sets your piece apart from the pack.
JUDGING
1. Pieces will be judged by a panel of judges.
2. Judges score each criteria 1-10, with 10 being the highest. Scores are totaled for each painter, and then all the judges’ scores are added together. In case of a tie, judges must deliberate and pick a winner.
3. Judges can award a zero (0) if the artist broke a rule.
4. Incomplete paintings and incorrectly spelled words are disqualified.
5. Judges are chosen by the organizer.
6. Judges will have an opportunity to explain their decisions.
7. Decision by the judges is final. There is no appeal process. PROTEST - are prohibited and will not be accepted regarding any score or result of a decision.

DANCE BATTLE FORMAT
Prelims begin promptly at 1:30PM
Prelims are 1 round showcase. Top 16 in each category is selected to move on. Elimination battles are 1 rounds each person UNTIL finals 3 rounds. Prelims are 45 secs each then the elimination rounds are 60 secs all the way to the finals.
